1Prepare all the ingredients before starting, making sure the shrimp are peeled and deveined, the bacon is cut into pieces, the garlic is finely chopped, and the parsley is fresh and chopped.
2Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water to season the pasta.
3Add the fettuccine to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook until al dente and then drain the pasta, reserving some of the cooking water.
4While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the bacon. Cook the bacon until golden and crispy, stirring occasionally.
5Remove the bacon from the skillet with a slotted spoon and place it on paper towels to absorb excess fat. Leave the bacon fat in the skillet.
6In the same skillet, add unsalted butter and let it melt.
7Add the chopped garlic to the skillet with the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds or until the garlic is fragrant.
8Add the shrimp to the skillet with the garlic and butter. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and cooked through. Remove them from the skillet and set them aside with the bacon.
